And out came the sunshine

After the coldest May for who knows how long the sun shone down on the DJ Touring Gallery as we made our second excursion out of 2012. Hare's Eye Art Fair was the event, the first of hopefully many more, set in the exquisite gardens at Nawton Towers, tucked away on a hillside in North Yorkshire.

Shadow Dance

EMMA LAWRENSON

Somewhere in-between

9th May – 9th June
"… simplicity is everything"
Even the shadows are falling into line with the geometric and organic.
Fragments of architecture, nature and the landscape of Yorkshire have all provided stimulus for this exhibition presented as hard-edged geometric linear abstractions and contrasting fluid organic forms.

Every Studio Should Have an Amp

Had a fun time meeting the lovely Simon Woolham at the amazing studio complex of Wysing Arts Centre. We now have a fantastic consignment of prints made by Simon and the very talented Tamarind Master Printer Lee Turner.

Simon's prints will be on show in September as part of the concluding exhibition that closes Duckett and Jeffreys Print Season, but for anyone eager to take a pre show peek - please don't hesitate to ask.

Printing as an Event 4 - Leipzig

Wishing Pam Newall all the best in Leipzig where her prints have been selected as part of the  international print exhibition 'Printing as an Event 4'. Pam's strong etchings which explore an urban presentation of the momentarily absent, the peripheral and the overlooked can be seen at Duckett and Jeffreys in June.

Recur - Final Week

“In a world of bullshit, fashion and mumbo jumbo it is a relief to know that an artist as strong and humble as Jehan is creating simple beauty with such diligence and madness. Time will tell the unknowing that this is a very real and serious artist.”
Robert Lloyd, Singer/Songwriter, The Nightingales

A final chance to add a bit of colour to these monotone February days. Jehan's supersize collages used for recent cd covers for the band The Nightingales, are an array of vibrant swirling mix of sweetshop acidics and powder room pastels
